If you’re one of my website clients you probably never noticed a thing but I made some major upgrades to your websites this morning. While most of you were sleeping about 12:45 this morning, I started the process that left your sites inaccessible for about 15-20 minutes. During that time I upgraded your web server from a 32 bit operating system to a 64 bit operating system. In laymen terms, “your sites hosted by Image1Plus are rendering much faster now”. All my client sites are now enjoying a 2 to 5 point increase in their performance grade and load times were decreased to less that a quarter of a second to slightly over a second. Today they’re all testing 90% to 99% faster that all websites tested at Pingdom.com. The screenshots shown above are the Pingdom reports for High Stakes Ranch and Riverside Park RV and illustrates the kind of scores that move your sites closer to the top of Google search returns.I’d like to invite those of you who aren’t my clients already to click on the Pingdom.com link below and enter your website address to see how it stacks up against my 2 websites above. If you run the test be sure to choose Dallas, Texas, USA as your test server so you will be comparing apples to apples. Servers from anywhere else in the world will give slightly different scores because your website takes different routes to deliver content to your visitors there.

Email “Greylisting” added at no additional charge!

My website clients have always received complimentary email hosting and today they’re also enjoying a world with a little less spam due to the addition of Greylisting to my standard services. This program works at the server level to prevent certain types of spam from ever reaching your local spam filters. I DO NOT recommend disabling your local spam protection such as Vipre, Norton, or McAfee because Greylisting only works as a complimentary service to your normal spam protection. The Greylisting software has one slight drawback in that you do not receive your emails as fast. It works by temporarily refusing all email knowing that all legitimate email servers will deliver the sent email for a 2nd, 3rd, or even a 4th time if the first attempt fails. Spam email senders function by sending mass mailings and do not resend the same email more than once so you never see those. If any of you find you don’t like the way Greylisting works for you please advise and I will deactivate it for your email.
